Take Inventory

Keep a list on the refrigerator and when you use the last of something write it down; you’ll make less trips to the store if you have a list that contains everything you need.

Avoid Lines

do your shopping when the store is less busy such as early morning or late night. The busy times for stores are just before dinner on weekdays and 10-7 on weekends.

Catagorize Your Unpacking

when placing food into your shopping cart and when you are bagging groceries group items by where they are stored at home; in the refriderator, freezer or pantry. This will save lots of time when you get them home when everything is grouped by where it goes.

Hang Your Bag

if you use cloth bags (and you should) hang them on the front door handle so when you go outside you automatically place the bags back in the car for the next time.

The farmers markets in Minnesota are finally open and selling all kinds of great vegetables, berries, herbs and flowers. There is nothing like fresh vegetables from the market. Most of the markets are open one day during the week and Saturday morning til noon. The things that you traditionally find at a farmers market has expanded to include eggs, fresh baked bread, jams & jellies, cheese, pickles, meats and canned goods. Some farmers markets also sell prepared foods such as the one in Minneapolis under the bridge that sells huge cinnamon buns, sausage sandwiches, corn on the cob, Carmel corn and fresh lemonade.
