Valley Natural Foods will be offering gluten-free classes for the holidays on November 3rd and December 8th from 6:30 – 8pm. The class will feature cooking gluten-free for the holidays. The class is $32 for non-members and $27 for members; call 952-891-1212 to register or stop by the customer service counter at Valley Natural Foods.

Gluten Unsafe List – Gluten Not On Food Labels

It’s great when food manufacturers include gluten-free info on their packaging it makes it easy to identify gluten-free products that way.
Many foods that contain gluten in one or more of the ingredients are not being properly identified on food labels.

I just started a gluten-free diet and after doing some research found that many ingredients listed on food labels do not say that the ingredients are made with gluten products. For example modified food starch is an ingredient on lots of product labels and many labels do not mention what kind of starch (wheat, rice, corn, etc.). so how do you know what kind of starch they used?
